Agriculture is a very important part of the economy and way of life in Meigs County. According to the 2012 Census of Agriculture, we have 317 farms that encompass just over 52,800 acres. Beef cattle production is the major sector with over 200 farms and almost 6,000 head of beef cattle. We have approximately 11,000 total of cattle and calves. Total agriculture sales for the county is over $6.8 million.
